Buckle Up! It Only Gets Weirder from Here

Let's do the Retrograde Dance! 

It's like musical chairs to an awesome beat, but no one put any chairs out on the dance floor! So when the music stops, we all end up on our behinds on the tile. I guess we forgot to check our schedule, while we were in each other's business and at each other's throats. 

Look at the mess we made. Drinks were split everywhere. We cannot get onto our feet because of the liquid hydroplaning we are doing. People are crashing into each other. Expletives are flying. Love connections are on and off again. Any semblance of reality is really just an illusion. 

With Retrogrades in Mars (War!), Jupiter (Expansion), Uranus (Innovation), Neptune (Illusions), and Chiron (Wounded Healer), we can only rely on the Sun (Personal Identity), Moon (Emotions), Mercury (Communication), Saturn (Restrictions), and Venus (Values) to help guide us from certain self-destruction. 

But is having that overdue internal conversation with ourselves really that terrible?

What we have to avoid at this time of inner reflection and heighten emotions is taking other people with us. Down with us? It is the Shadow half of the year and the veil that keeps energies in their special compartments has the doors wide open until the next Full Moon, which happens to be an eclipse. 

Can life get any more difficult? 

What these energies are showing you is that where there is a challenge, there is a conversation you should be having with yourself. You should not be taking out your impatience, lack of motion, left-brain fixations, self-delusions, or heartache out on other people. You need to sit down with yourself: meditate, journal, draw, and/or paint and find resolution and balance. 

If one Retrograde can throw you out of balance, then five is an avalanche. 

So, take some time to evaluate what it is you want from yourself and others by creating healthy boundaries on your time and energy. What I have found helpful in the past is Covey's First Things First priotization.

Here is a worksheet from Purdue University to assist you. Sit down, read it, and then apply the principles to your own life. 

Then when a Retrograde, or five, comes to your dance floor, you will remember to remind the chair duty officer to bring them out of storage. You may not get a seat when the music stops, but it is better than having a tropical drink in your lap.

Mercury in Leo and Out of Shadow this Week

Mercury's energy was retrograde for most of July 2019. 

On July 31st, the archetypal energy stationed direct again. Today, August 11th, Mercury returns to the sign of Leo. In a few days, August 16th, Mercury will resume it's normal speed and passage from our point of view. 

So expect the return to the daily grind of communication by Friday.  

Leo, a fire sign, makes Mercury, our communication vehicle, more expressive. Shine a light over here! Let me tell you about my day. Yes, our communication is about to get the spotlight treatment so make sure what you say is golden. 

The Golden Rule that is. 

Don't Hate the Number 8

The number eight is not associated with Nazis, but unfortunately there is a growing political movement that believes in nonsense. 

Eight is an energy. Let's look at the number as a work of art and turn it on its side. The number is now the symbol for eternity. 

Back to the concept of numerology, 8 is a number that invokes the positive and negative uses of ideas like money. Too many 8's in your reading could be the blessing of a lottery winning energy to the nightmare scenario of spending your winning all too rapidly and dive straight into bankruptcy. 

8... power, finances, control in business, authority, career. This number is every corporate tycoons dream. Well, sort of, eight also becomes what energy you place into your intentions and actions. Want money and power? But, you don't care about others and step on everyone you can use and abuse to go up the corporate ladder?

The number 8 will make sure you meet those people on your way back down. 

Be careful what you wish for! The number eight has nothing to do with hate and everything to do with the Golden Rule. 

So don't spread hate using the number 8.

Is Karma in the Numbers?

It is funny when you are in a political conversation with someone and since you will not agree to their terms, then your competitor will resort to other means to win, usually some sort of emotional blackmail: negative things happen to you because that (what you disagree on) brings you bad karma.

Really? Just because I disagree I am now labeled as having bad karma? Yes, bad occurrences happen but that is life. Life tends to be unfair at times.

Could you imagine if life were (not un)fair and that everything bad that happened to you occurred because you deserved it? Combine the fact that there are bad people in this world who do bad things to good people. So life can be unfair. Would you want it any other way?

Then I remembered my numerology. I do not have any karma to work out this lifetime. Usually 30% of people will have what is called a Karmic Debt number. 13, 14, 16, and 19 are our suspect numbers that reduce down: 13/4, 14/5, 16/7, and 19/10/1.

Well the universe has decided that past actions are the real creator of karma and not an opposing viewpoint.
